About Axum Graphics Notes
Axum Graphics Notes is a small site about 2D animation for beginners. It has a keyframe and easing playground on the home page and a set of guides on the ideas underneath every animation: the 12 principles, keyframes and in-betweens, easing, frame rates and timing, the main types of free software, and animating web pages with CSS.
Independent site
Independent site relaunched in 2026. Not affiliated with the former Axum Graphics company or its products.
The domain previously belonged to a different organization. This site has no connection to it, doesn't offer its products, accounts or support, and doesn't carry over any of its content. If you're looking for help with a product or account from before 2026, we can't provide it.
Who writes it
The guides are written by the Axum Graphics Notes Editors, a small team with a background in animation and front-end design. We aim for plain explanations, small exercises and accurate terms, and we update guides when something changes, such as browser support for a CSS feature.
How we work
The guides teach concepts rather than reviewing products, so the software guide describes types of tools instead of naming programs. We don't take sponsorships, run ads or use affiliate links. The playground runs entirely in your browser and doesn't send anything anywhere.
